By the end of 12 weeks, you’ll drop a dress size, know exactly what to eat and how to move your body, all without guessing.

The AdaptWell Method™ Drop a Dress Size in 12 Weeks - A Program Designed for Wheelchair Users

Join the 12-week coaching program built specifically for wheelchair users who want to drop a dress size, feel like themselves again and gain independence - with strategies designed for real wheelchair life.

Cut through the frustration of generic health advice on how to lose body fat. At AdaptWell, being in a wheelchair is normal.

You’re not the exception. You’re the standard.

Hi, I'm Tennille. I'm a wheelchair user, a registered dietitian nutritionist and certified Zumba instructor teaching adaptive, wheelchair-based classes online. There is a lot of advice about how to lose weight and everyone seems to be saying something different. Eat this, not that -  or try the latest “lose weight quickly” plan. Together, we’ll build a plan to help you drop a dress size that works for your body, using nutrition, adaptive exercise, and group coaching to support you every step of the way.

Does any of this sound like you?

You're frustrated with generic weight loss advice

Health advice is coming to you from people who look like they’ve never struggled a day in their life, who don't look like they would understand what you're going through. At AdaptWell, we have real bodies. I know that calorie calculations are not accurate for disabled bodies, and stepping on the scale is unrealistic. You need concrete advice that makes sense from someone who gets it.

Overwhelmed by the health and fitness maze

Eat this, don't eat that, everybody saying they are experts on nutrition and fitness, yet their advice conflicts with each other.

Doctors suggesting you lose weight without giving you more than a sentence on how to do it

You want to lose the extra weight but feel like the old methods you used to rely on to manage your weight aren't available to you anymore. Maybe you used to hit the gym, go for a run, or spend time making healthy meals from scratch when you needed to drop some pounds? As a wheelchair user, everything changes, and what used to work isn't possible anymore. I’ll show you exactly what to do to help — so your health supports your goals, instead of standing in your way.”

Going to the gym draws attention and takes up your whole day

By the time you get yourself ready for the gym, load your wheelchair up, drive to the gym, look desperately for a parking spot, unload your car, roll through the double doors, you feel like you’ve already gotten in your workout before you start your class.  You spend class time trying to modify the moves, answer questions about why you’re in a wheelchair, and then start the process over again to get back home.  Instead, join me and other wheelchair users right from your home, online. These aren’t watered-down workouts.

They’re real, cardio-focused dance sessions designed for wheelchair users.  Travel time? A minute or so! Enjoy a one hour workout that only takes one hour out of your day instead of all day.  I teach Zumba from my wheelchair online live through Zoom, and if those times don’t work for you, I have pre-recorded on demand classes available anytime, day or night!

You know your body better than anyone. The last thing you want to hear is someone telling you the solution to weight loss is just eat less and exercise more. You've scrolled all the socials looking for help, but no one looks like they get you. You notice everyone seems to have the answers, but they all disagree with each other.

You diligently search for nutrition advice, listen to podcasts, buy the books, and keep trying, but all of this seems so complicated. With each new diet you try, you have to throw away your old food and buy new foods. All of this takes time and effort. You're longing for a simpler process, something that just seems easy. You might have given up on losing weight because you felt this wasn't an option for you.

MY FORMULA

In my 25 plus years of working with weight loss clients, I’ve learned something:

  • A meal plan isn’t enough.

  • Knowing what to eat isn’t enough.

  • Extreme calorie restriction doesn’t work long-term.

  • You need support while you’re changing.

As a wheelchair user for 17 years, and someone who has personally lost over 80# pounds, I know what works and what doesn’t.

That’s why I created The AdaptWell Method™ Drop a Dress Size in 12 Weeks, Designed for Wheelchair Users

This program combines my professional experience as a registered dietitian with fitness classes all tailored to the unique needs of wheelchair users.

Here’s how it works, the AdaptWell Method™ works in 3 parts:

What sets the AdaptWell Method apart?

Most programs expect you to adapt to them.

AdaptWell adapts to you.

Because when your program fits your body, consistency becomes possible.

Most weight loss advice and fitness programs are built for able-bodied people.

This one is built for wheelchair users.

That changes everything.

When your program reflects your body and your reality, consistency becomes possible.

And consistency is what drops dress sizes."

This program isn’t for someone looking for a crash diet or a quick fix.

It’s for wheelchair users ready to build habits that last.

Losing fat and dropping dress sizes can be tricky because:

You're constantly having to think of new ideas on what to eat, and, if you're having a super stressful day, chances are that you'll turn back to your comfort foods.

Let's be honest, it's hard to keep cheering yourself on sometimes. When we mess up, or we do great, it's nice having someone in our corner knowing that we can be successful no matter what happened yesterday.

Change is hard. Our brains are programmed to keep things the same: your habits, the same foods, even the same places we hangout in our house! Making lifestyle changes goes against the brain's desire to keep everything simple and the same. Having a group that understands your reality and a coach who lives it, can be the difference between quitting and finishing.

You don’t need to spend weeks building your own meal plan.

You don’t need to search for workouts that may or may not work.

You don’t need advice from people who don’t understand disability.

Hi, I'm Tennille and I created the AdaptWell™  method because I felt frustrated that I couldn’t find a program built for bodies like mine. I used to teach fitness classes at a gym before my injury, and now I teach dance-style Zumba classes from my wheelchair online. I've been a wheelchair user for 17 years and have learned through trial and error what physical activity and foods work for me. I take my experience as a dietitian, zumba instructor, and my personal weight loss of over 80# and put it together in a method especially designed for wheelchair users who want to drop a dress size in 12 weeks, feel like themselves again and gain independence - with strategies designed for real wheelchair life.
